“I have nothing to wear!” Every girl knows this feeling all too well. It’s time to leave, your hair and makeup are done, but you are surrounded by clothing thrown haphazardly around your room and you still have nothing to wear. Worst.. Feeling.. Ever! In this moment, I am always reminded of that one scene in, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, where the grinch is standing in his mirror after countless outfit attempts until he just explodes in saying "That's it, I'm not going!" I’ve been there more times than I can count and care to admit so trust me when I say, I am here to help!
The 99 and Me Fashion Blog will take a look at some of the do’s and don’ts of styling, provide outfit inspiration, and draw on my own experiences in the world of fashion, so that you never have to say, “I have nothing to wear” again!
Here, I have put together a guide on how to style three different outfits this spring, depending on the occasion and look you are going for.
Lady in White
Calling all brides...this dress is for you! With pleated, tiered layers this midi dress is perfect for all of your engagement functions, from bridal showers to engagement parties to photoshoots and all the in betweens. It is also designed with modesty in mind, featuring a built-in liner and an elastic band across the shoulders, keeping this dress in place. Nothing is more frustrating than constantly messing with your outfit when you should be enjoying the moment.
Not sold yet? Let me help you paint the perfect picture. Keep it neutral by accessorizing with a nude wedge or heel and gold jewelry- you can never go wrong with this classic combo. Or add a pop of color with your favorite statement jewelry and heels! I suggest a bold blue in preparation for the big day and old tradition of wearing something blue. You can also dress it down by throwing a jean jacket over your shoulders and a cute pair of sneakers on your feet. This trendy pairing is the perfect combo of comfy and cute!
Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.
That is one of my favorite quotes about spring fashion that always makes me giggle. But, only because it's true, you can never go wrong with a good floral number for spring - it's a classic! This dress is very occasion friendly and I am all about mixing and matching different styles using the same staple pieces in your closet. This helps maximize your wardrobe without leaving your wallet hurting. This dress is perfect for a date night out, Sunday brunch with the girls, or as a wedding guest dress (Eek! It's officially wedding season!). With a fun bubble sleeve, ruffle hemline, and an open back with a self-tie bow, this dress is sure to have you feeling confident, girly, and beautiful.
Go for a simple look by throwing on a nude wedge and set of silver hoop earrings. Bring out your inner boho chic style by pairing this dress with booties and a velvet hat. Or bring out your girly casual weekend style by pairing with your favorite pair of white sneakers. I am telling y'all, sneakers and dresses are all the rave right now and that is one trend I can definitely be on board with.
Blue Jean Baby
You know we all have that one pair of jeans (our favorite ones) that we can always count on to look good no matter what. Well, we've just found your next go-to pair of jeans. These high-waisted straight leg jeans, featured in a light vintage wash, are essential for nearly every occasion and season.
Going for a more flirty girl look? Pair with a strappy heel or platform sandal and your favorite floral top. Nothing says "flirty girl" more than a good pair of heels and your favorite jeans!
Need something more casual? Throw on your favorite sneakers, graphic tee, and favorite backpack purse.
Neither of these sound like your style? Don't worry the possibilities are endless with this pair. I also suggest pairing these jeans with one of our new rib knit tanks featured in the above photo. Available in ivory or olive green, this tank is made of a thick, fitted, rib knit material. This tank also features a scoop neckline that is flattering on all chest sizes. And the final step in completing this look for spring include adding your favorite pair of sunglasses, woven sandals, and matching handbag.
